Our Baby Room is situated on the lower floor of the building. This room caters for children aged from 3 months to 24 months and works on a 1:3 ratio. The room is registered for 20 children and has the benefit of it's own changing facilities, kitchen area and separate sleep room. A daily diary is provided to record your child's daily activities and we also take pictures and written observations of the children’s development to go in their profile books. Our room is a free flowing room and the children can explore everything at their level. We have a "Den" area that has a variety of sensory baskets that all contain objects to stimulate their senses. The Baby Gym provides an opportunity for physical development. The Children have a "messy" area where they can explore paint, playdough, sand, water and glue. The snug story corner provides an area where the children can have quiet time with a book. We also use this area for together time where we sing songs and read books as a group. We follow the Pre-Birth to Three Curriculum and we aim to work closely with parents in order to establish a routine for our youngest children.

Regular outdoor play is an important feature and we endeavor to visit the garden on a daily basis. Staff log records of your child's day in their individual daily diaries and also take written observations and photo's to go in their profile books. The Pre-School room make regular use of the garden and will also make use of the local outdoor facilities with trips to the beach, local parks and play areas.
Each child in the Pre-School room has a learning storyand these are used by the children, staff and parents. Learning stories contain photographs, observations and drawings. Children have ownership of their folders and are actively involved in recording their own learning. Learning stories are a means of discussing learning on an individual basis and a record of achievement for parents and carers.
